Streamside Assistance Program Coordinator

The Ulster County Soil and Water Conservation District is seeking to fill the position of Streamside Assistance Program Coordinator. The work involves responsibility for the development and implementation of an enhanced Streamside Assistance Program (SAP) by focusing on protecting, enhancing and restoring streamside buffers in the Ashokan Reservoir watershed. It involves working collaboratively with the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP) and the NYC-West-of Hudson Riparian Buffer Committee to provide support to private landowners in need of riparian enhancements as well as coordinating all the work performed. The incumbent will oversee Ulster County Soil and Water Conservation District’s (UCSWCD) daily activities by providing technical and educational assistance to the streamside landowners, utilizing geomorphic assessment and restoration methods to protect water quality in the upstate New York City Water Supply. The incumbent will coordinate all the work performed for this part of the program as part of a five year agreement between the UCSWCD and the NYCDEP, in support of the New York City Water Supply Filtration Avoidance Program.
